Mukesh is a Silicon Valley based technology professional with over 20 years of experience in software, Internet and mobile industries. Mukesh has worked with several companies in business development, fundraising, turnarounds and M&A.
Mukesh founded an Internet portal in 1998 called Asia-Links Media. He led the company from concept to being one of the top-3 portals for Asia business information. Under Mukesh’s leadership Asia-Links raised $6.5 million in three rounds of funding from venture funds and corporate investors. From 2005 to 2008, Mukesh was responsible for sales and marketing for MINO Wireless, a mobile application company. Mukesh made key contributions to the company’s strategy and business plan based on which MINO received $8.5 million in funding from Canaan Partners and other investors.
At the start of his career, Mukesh worked in engineering and marketing in the Artificial Intelligence group at DEC. Mukesh received a BS degree from IIT Bombay and an MS degree from MIT. Mukesh was president of the 6000-member MIT Club of Northern California and a board member of MIT/Stanford Venture Lab at the Stanford Business School.
Mukesh currently heads the US business for Skyroam, a venture-funded startup in China targeting the roaming market. He is also an Executive Mentor at NUS Enterprise, an incubator at the National University of Singapore.
