Jim Howard is an expert on product, pricing and go-to-market strategy for B2B technology companies. Over the past 20 years, Jim founded and ran two successful companies through exit and has advised dozens of others. In his role as an operating partner for Diversis, he sits on the board of ServicePower, a leading Field Service Mobility company.
Based in Santa Monica, California, Jim works as an advisor to technology companies and technology investment firms. Mr. Howard assists technology investors in evaluating opportunities and advises technology CEOs on go-to-market approach, pricing, metrics development, product roadmap, planning and fundraising.
Jim was the founder and CEO of CrownPeak Technology, the first cloud provider of Web Content Management and Digital Experience Management. During Jim’s tenure as CEO, CrownPeak shifted from a professional services company to a pure recurring revenue technology company, raised three rounds of venture capital, became a Gartner Magic Quadrant Visionary, expanded internationally and grew at over 300% from 2012 to 2015, leading to successful exit of the company in 2015. In the six years prior to founding CrownPeak, Mr. Howard worked in consulting, focused on digital strategy and technology execution. During that time, Jim rose to Partner at USWeb/CKS and then ran sales and subsequently operations for the West for USWeb/CKS successor company MarchFIRST. Jim was a founding member of one of the first Internet technology companies, W3-design. He holds special advisory roles in several prominent startups and is on the advisory committee for Santa Monica-based incubators Amplify and Mucker Labs. Jim studied Chemistry and Economics at the University of Delaware.
